Two care workers at a Swaffham residential home have raised hundreds of pounds for charity after completing a skydive.

Charlene Waldron and Jessica Thompson, who work at the Meadow House home in Norwich Road, completed the jump in aid of the MS Trust at the Beccles airfield.

Their efforts mean the home has now raised around £840 for the charity, increasing the sum generated by a bikeathon that took place at the site in May.

Supporters covered 68.6 miles, the equivalent of the distance between the home and the headquarters of its owners, Healthcare Homes, in Colchester.

The pair said: “We are extremely pleased to have raised so much for such a worthy cause.

“Working with people who live with multiple sclerosis, we see firsthand the challenges they face every day, so helping the MS Trust with this fundraising was very important to us.

“It was terrifying and exciting but we are so proud to have completed this challenge and look forward to continuing to help raise awareness of MS with the team at Meadow House.”

The jump took place as part of the charity’s Jump in June campaign.
