Students at Swaffham’s Nicholas Hamond Academy have been testing their imagination in a writing competition organised by the town’s Rotary club.

The youngsters were asked to produce a poem or short story based on the theme Our World is Beautiful, which were then judged on writing skill and creativity.

The competition’s winner was year nine pupil Lorna Pepperill, pictured front left, who will now go forward to a regional contest.

Also pictured with Rotary officials are, from left, Lorna Hammond, Paige Mitchell, Sebastian Bond, Neve Gabrielle and Melissa Hoskins.
