Swaffham town councillors have lodged an objection to plans for an anaerobic digestion plant in nearby North Pickenham.
Bernard Matthews Ltd wants to build the facility at The Airfield, Hilborough Road, and the town council initially voiced no objections when the issue was examined earlier this year.
But the application was reviewed at the authority’s monthly meeting last Wednesday after amended plans were submitted to Breckland district council.
And, this time, members voted to oppose the proposal.
In a formal response after the meeting, town clerk Richard Bishop said the council was objecting on transport grounds, “specifically the likely generation of traffic and large vehicles using inappropriate roads.”
