Developers have cut the height of two wind turbines they hope to build on the edge of Swaffham.

Airvolution Energy submitted plans for two 131 metre high turbines on a site in Sporle Road in February last year.

But the company says it has now cut the height of the turbines to 115 metres, following consultations with local people and public bodies.

An amendment to the planning applcation has now been submitted to Breckland council and project manager Tom Walker said: “We take consultation seriously and having taken feedback on board, we are pleased to announce a 12% reduction in the height of both turbines.”

The company says that is five metres lower than the existing Swaffham II turbine on Sporle Road.

A decision on the application is expected this autumn.
