Swaffham Skate Park is celebrating after receiving £325 from Waitrose Swaffham, which will be used to support its activities this year.

The cause is run by the Iceni Partnership and is raising money to fund the refurbishment of the skate park in the recreation ground on Haspalls Road.

It was part of the Waitrose Community Matters Scheme in September. The branch donates £1,000 every month to local charities and causes voted for by cusomters as part of the green token scheme.

Steve Graham, branch manager of Waitrose Swaffham, said: “It’s really important to us to that we support the community in which we trade and the Community Matters scheme helps us to support causes that are at the heart of the community.

“I’m pleased to have been able to support the good work of The Swaffham Skate Park.”

In the same month, Waitrose Swaffham also supported The Oxfam Crusaders and Support the Students at The Nicholas Hamond Academy with awards of £350 and £325 respectively.

Since its launch, the Community Matters scheme at Waitrose Swaffham has donated more than £80,000.
