An investigation has been launched after a teenage motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a lorry at the weekend.

Police say the incident happened on the A1065 at Mundford, close to the Desert Rat memorial, at around 6.45am on Saturday.

The 18-year-old male rider, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Norfolk Police spokesman said a file on the man’s death would be prepared for the coroner.

The road was closed for several hours as emergency service personnel dealt with the incident.

A fire crew from Methwold was called to the scene to assist paramedics.

Police now want to hear from anyone who either saw the collision, or either of the vehicles involved, and how they were being driven, prior to it.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Norfolk Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Team (SCIT), via the non-emergency 101 number.
