The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh put on a stoic display on Sunday as they attended church despite the headlines made by sex abuse allegations against Prince Andrew.

The couple waved and smiled at 300 well-wishers who had gathered outside St Mary Magdalene Church, Sandringham.

The Queen wore a vivid scarlet outfit while Prince Philip, 93, wore his customary long brown coat.

He cracked a couple of jokes with the crowd as he braved icy paths to walk the short distance to and from the church in the winter sunshine while the Queen travelled by car.
