Fireworks lit up the night sky above Hunstanton’s clifftop on Saturday night as thousands of onlookers cheered and warmed themselves by the bonfire.
Organisers at Hunstanton Round Table were amazed by the turnout for this year’s event, which publicity officer Andrew Searle believes was the best yet.
He said: “ We were just overwhelmed by the support of the town. It was a really good night and everything just fell into place for us – the weather really helped.
“I’ve been doing this since 1996 and the response was great, I think this was the best turnout for several years, some saying there was 8,000 there.”
The crowds of onlookers were entertained by the cast of the upcoming Christmas show at The Princess Theatre, Rudolph’s Christmas Adventure, with performances from Lynn’s Rock Choir and Groovapolitan.
Mr Searle added: “A great night for Hunstanton, thank you for your support. The money raised on the night will be donated to local worthy causes. We look forward to seeing everyone at the Christmas day swim.”
