Lynn Town Guides visited the Mayor’s parlour on Monday to hand over a significant portion of last year’s guiding income to West Norfolk mayor Colin Manning for the benefit of good causes throughout the borough.

A sum of £4, 000 will be shared between the Lynn Preservation Trust, Lynn Minster, All Saint’s Church, True’s Yard, Marriott’s Warehouse, the Roman Catholic Church and Lynn Worfolk Boat Trust. It takes the cumulative total raised since 1989 to an incredible £60, 934. Bob Price, chairman of Lynn Town Guides, said: “I am delighted that we are able to donate such an amount to seven different organisations within the town.

“The donation ceremony itself is the culmination of a year’s guiding by a very talented group of whom the town should be very proud.”
