A THREE year-old boy has died tonight, Wednesday, after he was in collision with a car close to the Lynn Mart.

Police and paramedics were called to King Street following the incident, which happened at around 5.30pm this afternoon. The road remained closed for several hours afterwards.

The boy was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with serious head injuries, but doctors were unable to save him.

His death was confirmed by Norfolk Police shortly after 9pm tonight. Specialist family liaison officers are said to be with his family.

Hundreds of youngsters had been in the area around the Tuesday Market Place today, enjoying the children’s day of the Lynn Mart – the second day of this year’s event.

The day is traditionally the busiest of the two-week fair.
