CASTLE RISING: Downham motorcyclist dies after A149 crash

Police have confirmed that the motorcyclist who died following a collision on the A149 on Saturday afternoon was from the Downham area.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, was driving a black Aprilia motorbike when it was in collision with a black Audi at around 3.10pm.

He was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital where he died on Sunday morning.

The crash happened at the Roydon Road junction in Castle Rising and the female driver of the Audi suffered cuts and bruises.

Police want to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or the manner of driving of the vehicles prior to it. Contact PC Shane Schucroft at the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 101.
