Mart incident tragedy: In loving memory of ‘our little man’
FAMILY and friends had recreated the mounting pile of tributes to Rio Bell as they added bunches of flowers, stuffed toys and cards with personal messages to the boy.
A family member confirmed that the previous pile was taken away last week by the family to their home in Lowestoft where they will be placed in the boy’s coffin.
A message left by the boy’s father said: “Son, I have lovely memories of you and I am always here for you. Always thinking of you.
“Not a day will go past when I’m not missing you. Lots of love, always, Daddy.”
Also left by the boy’s father was the Spiderman costume worn by Rio, above, which had been placed on a doll in memory of Rio.
Another message, left by Rio’s aunt and cousins, said: “Our little man, big personality. We love you so much and we will miss you dearly.
“My baby nephew, gone too soon.
“When you lay in hospital, I just wanted you to look up at me and say ‘Me come’.
“Lots of love always.”
Mr Macey, 50, from Lynn, held the boy’s hand in his last moments and was involved with the organising of Saturday night’s protest.
He said: “There was a family member at the protest and you’ve got to admire their strength for returning to the scene of the accident.
“They told me that they plan to return at some point and collect the other tributes, they don’t want them left in the rain to spoil.
“They will probably add them to the others to be present at the funeral of little Rio.”
