An investigation has begun after a motorcyclist from the Swaffham area died in a crash on the A47 yesterday morning..

Emergency crews were called to the Scarning straight at Wendling, close to the Dale Road junction at around 9.30am on Monday after a red motorbike, heading towards Dereham, was in collision with a white DAF lorry heading in the opposite direction.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say both the motorbike and a grey Audi A7 car had been passing a stationary maintenance vehicle, which was heading in the same direction as them, when the crash happened.
