Hundreds of people have paid tribute to a 25-year-old man from Necton who has been found dead after disappearing in Spain.
Sam Alger, who worked in Qatar as a performance analyst for the Qatar Stars League, was last seen at a nightclub in Barcelona on Sunday night.
A Facebook campaign was launched in an attempt to find him. It has been reported he became separated from friends while trying to escape disorder at a nightclub in the city.
However, it was announced late last night that his body had been found. Reports have suggested he was discovered in a drainage ditch.
A post on the Facebook page set up to help find him said: “No one can quite believe what has happened and everyone is truly heartbroken.”
Yesterday evening an update on the Facebook page said: “This morning while out looking for Sam myself, Elizabeth Morris, Walter Scott and David Pragg found Sam shortly after the police had arrived at the scene.
“We are devastated to announce he was dead at the scene. No one can quite believe what has happened and everyone is truly heartbroken.
“Thank you everyone for the help and support and prayers, we appreciate it so much.
“Sam was one of the kindest most genuine and loving people anyone could wish to know and to have him taken from us is truly heart breaking.”
