Vandals have wreaked hundreds of pounds worth of damage to a West Norfolk skatepark.

The £40,000 skatepark was installed at the Howdale, Downham, during 2012 after months of hard work by people in the town.

But vandals have damaged three panels on the ramps over the last four weeks.

Downham Town Council is now having to fork out £700 to replace all three.

Deputy town clerk Richard Davidson has said the vandalism was “disappointing”.

He said: “The community worked hard to buy the skatepark for the youth of Downham.

“It is really disappointing a small minority are spoiling it for the majority.”

The skatepark was funded by the town council, West Norfolk Council and Waste Recycling Environmental Limited (WREN).
