Pupils from the Anthony Curton Primary School at Walpole St Peter have been celebrating after entering a variety of events – and coming out on top.

A team of masterminds from Years Five and Six travelled to West Walton Primary School for the Cluster general knowledge quiz and faced six gruelling rounds of question on topics such as history, music and the arts. Many parents were glad to be spectating and not competing!

After a hard fought competition Anthony Curton School was announced the winner with a score of 60 out of 78 to pick up the trophy plus medals and certificates for their achievement.

The Walpole Wallabies after-school club entered a Scarecrow Festival run by the National Trust at Oxburgh Hall and had to design and build a scarecrow exhibit.

Their entry, entitled Ruby and Charles Orienteering, was among those put on display to visitors of the hall and received the most votes, with the school winning a year’s membership to the National Trust.

Four enthusiastic tennis players, from Year 4, won the Marshland Cluster tennis to reach the area finals, held at Lynn’s King Edward VII High School, and finished a commendable seventh.

In the Marshland Cluster Kwik cricket tournament at Emneth Primary School, Anthony Curton won every match they played and runners-up were sister school Tilney All Saints.
