An impressive 90 riders took to the roads on Sunday for the annual Bike for Brian to raise funds for those affected by motor neurone disease.
After an exhausting ride, it was back to the Angel pub, Watlington, for a well-earned burger and a cold drink.
Jill Brock, fundraiser, for MNDA, King’s Lynn and West Norfolk Group, said: “A very big thank you to everyone who attended, fundraised, sponsored or supported us. Special thanks to Peter, Mandy and Atlanta, the landlord and landlady and their daughter of the Angel, also their staff, who’s generosity and support is second to none, they are the perfect hosts.”
Peter Taylor and his colleagues from St John Ambulance, provided safety cover while Asda donated 100 Mars bars and squash for the halfway stop refreshments.
Tesco Gaywood, Boots, and Wilkinsons also donated raffle prizes.
Ms Brock said: “We hope everyone enjoyed the event, and hope to see them all next year. The amount raised was £979 with more sponsor monies expected to come in.
A further fundraiser for MNDA takes place on Saturday, September 26, 7.30pm at the Ffolkes Arms, Hillington, where there will be a ‘Pretty in Pink’ Summer Ball in memory of Ruth Brock who died from MND in September 2012. Tickets are £15 from Lisa on 07584635740.
