A West Norfolk parish council now has a permanent presence in the village it serves after a new office was opened.

The new facility in Watlington is based at the village hall and also serves as a community information point for West Norfolk Council, where a host of council services can be accessed online.

The office was formally opened on Friday, to coincide with the monthly pop-up cafe held at the hall by the village’s WI.

Parish clerk Sara Porter said: “The Council considered this to be a nice opportunity for people to witness the opening and then head into the Jubilee Hall to support the WI and enjoy their wonderful cakes and refreshments.”

The office is staffed on Tuesdays and Thursdays, between 9.30am and 2.30pm and is open to the public between 11am and 1pm on those days.

For more information, phone the office on 01553 810777.

Urgent matters can still be reported by phoning Mrs Porter on 01366 502165 or 07941 105697.
