Hunstanton Sailing Club invited people to try out the club’s improved facilities and to have a go at four different watersports at the weekend.

Gathering on the North Promenade on Saturday morning, potential sailors of all ages registered for windsurfing, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding and sailing in the event organised by Dave Harding and following a safety briefing the groups and tutors made their way to the beach.

First out on the water was Oakie Letzer, 11, instructed by former Club Commodore Stuart Moore in a Supernova Dinghy, while Bob Panrucker from Castle Acre instructed Chris Peel with Lily and Matilda Hart.

Describing himself as ‘the oldest learner here’, Chris said: “I’ve had loads of experience with power boats but
this is my first sailing experience.”

On holiday from Nottingham and staying with grandmother Ann Saunders, in Dersingham, George and Archie Sims came with cousin Ryan Daniels from Ingoldisthorpe and they headed straight for the paddle boards for instruction from Johnny Smith and Mark Lees.
