The wet weather failed to dampen spirits at the annual Northwold carnival parade, organised by the Parent Teachers Association, on Saturday.

Starting from Hall Farm, down West End and up through the High Street, the carnival eventually made its way to the village primary school.

Roger Eyles, chairman of the PTA, kindly accepted the invitation to judge the floats.

The results were – Children’s section floats, 1 Key stage 2, 2 Key stage 1, 3 pre-school; Adult/Young person’s floats: 1 Carnival Queen, 2 WI; Children’s costumes: 1 Betsy Baker, 2 James Leech, 3 Herbie Gould; Adult costumes: 1 Doreen Randell, 2 Rosemary Crisp, 3 Patricia Hayes.

The dance groups who took part were: Studio & Dance Fitness Ltd, Lou Dixons’s Zumba group and Kim Ritchie’s Centre stage.

The PTFA thank all of the helpers and all from the village who supported the event.

Thanks also go to the Cater, Eyles and Lavender families for providing the vehicles, trailers and drivers.
