Mid Norfolk Youth League Under 13

Dersingham Rovers 10 Downham Town 1

All year the Rovers have shown the potential to play outstanding football, and in this game the home side played superbly throughout the whole team.

The first half started slowly and it was Downham that looked the most likely to open the scoring but missed their early chances and following a good run from Ben Welch the home side took the lead with a calmly taken penalty from Jack Hazel.

This seemed to calm the Rovers down and by half-time they were 4-0 up with two goals each from Ben Welch and Hazel.

The second half was controlled by the home side with goals coming at regular intervals, but mention must also go to Cameron Smeaton and Cairan O’Brien who worked tirelessly without scoring. Rovers ended the game with 10 goals in total from Welch (5), Hazel (3), Will Woodhouse with a good long range effort and Harry Knott.

With just one game to go, Rovers are secured third spot in the league which is reward for the effort they have made this year, and with the squad they have can now start looking forward to more success in the future.

Rossiters man of the match: the whole team not only for the result but also the way that it was achieved.
