Work to replace a stretch of footpath and kerbing along the A1101 Main Street in Welney is set to take place later this month, officials have announced.

The week-long project is expected to start on Monday, November 24. Temporary traffic signals will be in place throughout the works.

Norfolk County Council Highways officials say the project, which covers the area between Wren Cottage and the Lamb and Flag pub, has been arranged ahead of major resurfacing works between Chestnut Avenue and Old Bedford Bridge.

That project is expected to take place early in the new year.

A spokesman said: “It is our intention to carry out the resurfacing works while the Welney Washes are flooded. This will minimise disruption to all road users during the consequent road closure.
