Pupils at the West Lynn Primary School took part in a competition to create a logo for the Safer Crossing for Poppyfields campaign, which is aiming to raise the funds.

Campaigners want a new crossing on Clenchwarton Road, near the road junction leading into the housing estate.

Year six pupil Libby Edwards designed the winning logo, which was chosen by the area’s county councillor Alexandra Kemp, pictured above back, second right, on Tuesday.

Managers at the nearby McDonald’s franchise have already donated to the cause and other local businesses are being urged to follow suit.
