The Happy Memories Group recently held a lunch for people living with dementia, and their carers, in the wonderful historic surroundings of Lynn Town Hall.
Entertainment was provided by community-based group the Flukes. Sue Carter, of Happy Memories, said: “The group raise money to enable us to arrange social events for people living with dementia, and their carers.
“Our fund-raising efforts raised enough money to arrange the lunch party in the Town Hall and the Flukes provided the musical entertainment for free. The music was great and everyone loved it.
“It is very isolating for people with dementia, and their carers too. We also have a lunch club twice a month at Thaxters in Dersingham.”
The Flukes welcome beginners and experienced ukulele players. They currently meet on Wednesday evenings at the Freebridge Community Centre, at Providence Street, and anyone wishing to join should contact Iain Miller on 01945 780331.
