A forum event is to be held in Lynn in a bid to help landlords and letting agents comply with new rules which came into force yesterday.
The reforms include regulations requiring landlords to fit both smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in private rented accommodation.
Landlords are also set to be affected by changes to tax relief and benefit payment arrangements.
And they will have the chance to find out more at a forum being organised by West Norfolk Council at the Yours Business Networks centre in Tuesday Market Place on Tuesday, October 13.
Adrian Lawrence, the authority’s cabinet member for housing, said: “Legislation changes all the time and it’s important that landlords and letting agents know what this means for them.
“We have organised this forum to bring together a range of speakers to cover these hot topics and give landlords and letting agents a chance to ask questions and find out more.”
The session will run between 6 and 8.30pm and also cover topics including immigration checks.
Landlords’ groups, the Norfolk Fire Service and the Department for Work and Pensions will all be represented at the event.
