Rail services to and from West Norfolk will be disrupted from tonight because of scheduled engineering works, train company bosses have announced.

Great Northern’s usual 11.14pm service from London Kings Cross to Lynn will not run from this evening until Friday to enable the work to take place.

Passengers intending to use that service have been advised to catch the 11.22pm train to Peterborough and change at Hitchin for a replacement bus service.

The work could add up to two hours to normal journey times.

However, the earlier 10.24pm service from the capital, which usually terminates at Ely, will run through to Lynn.

Meanwhile, passengers intending to travel to London have also been advised that the 10.32pm service from Lynn will be replaced by a bus between Cambridge and Hitchin from tonight.

That is expected to add around an hour to the usual journey time.
