The West Norfolk-based charity Red Wellies followed up on the recent success of its celebrity charity football match held at The Walks in Lynn by rising to the challenge of a game against fellow cancer research charity Macmillan Cancer Support.
This was held on Sunday at Wisbech Town and was graced by the presence of Jackie Gallagher, a legend for the Fenmen in his time.
Gallagher, who also played for Peterborough and Wolves, made his final appearance for the club at the age of 50 and has also managed the club.
Now 56, Gallagher – who still plays for the Posh Legends side – was unable to prevent his side slipping to a 1-0 defeat. Fakenham boss Wayne Anderson was also in the Macmillan side, who as can be seen in the pictures, donned green wigs for the occasion.
There was fun all round at the family fun day, which also featured a bouncy castle and face-painting with money being split between the two charities.
