The magic of Roald Dahl books have been inspiring youngsters for generations and this was no exception at two West Norfolk schools this week.

Howard Junior School in Gaywood and Terrington St Clement Community School both held theme days based on the famous author.

Children at Terrington focused their day on The Twits, while pupils at Howard Junior celebrated national Roald Dahl day by wearing an array of outfits.

Assistant Terrington headteacher Miss Katie Adams, who coordinated the day, said: “We had a good uptake of children dressed up and they took part in a range of writing and activities – all with a Roald Dahl theme.

“We focused our day on the Twits and the children had so much fun. We also have a corridor display of the Twits at the school and some of the children’s work from the day will be added to it.”

Jason Harper, assistant headteacher at Howard Junior, said: “It was amazing to see the children dressed up and they all got into the spirit of it.
