Solicitors from Lynn and Dersingham have raised nearly £10,000 in donations from clients who visited them to make a will.

Nine Will Aid charities will benefit from the funds raised during the month-long campaign when solicitors up and down the country wrote wills for clients without charging their normal fees.

The Lynn office of Hawkins Ryan Solicitors in Tuesday Market Place raised £4,415 while its office at Dersingham raised £490.

Malletts Solicitors in Tuesday Market Place, raised £2,805, while Kenneth Bush in New Conduit Street raised £1,090 and £820 was raised in donations at Metcalfe Copeman and Pettefar in King Street.

The charities which will benefit from all the funds raised are ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, Sighsavers, SCIAF and Trocaire.

Shirley Marsland, Will Aid campaigner, said: “Will Aid has made such a real and positive difference to those in need.

“This would not have been achieved without the hard work of our enthusiastic solicitors and the generosity of the clients they have helped to make a will.”
