Witnesses sought after two women die in crash near King’s Lynn

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward following a crash near Lynn in which two elderly women died.

Emergency crews were called to the collision, between a blue Peugeot 107 and a blue Vauxhall Astra, on the A149 close to the Castle Rising junction shortly after 5pm on Wednesday.

The driver of the Peugeot, a woman in her mid-70s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her passenger, a woman in her late 80s, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where she later died.

The driver of the Vauxhall, a man in his late 40s, suffered serious injuries and was also taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

The road was closed for nearly six hours following the crash.
