Work has started to replace outdated play equipment on Dersingham Recreation Ground, which has also been awarded Fields in Trust status.
The parish council has been awarded £37,912 from not-for-profit waste business WREN towards the project which costs nearly £40,000.
This is Phase Two of a project to improve facilities for children in Dersingham, and is providing equipment for older children, and those with disabilities. A special feature will be a zip-wire.
Phase one, which was for the younger children, was completed earlier this year and the cost of £29,000 was totally funded by the parish council.
Phase three will be to provide a new skate ramp.
The construction work will be completed soon, and local children will be able to road test the equipment. It will be planted and officially opened next spring.
