A campaign that began in 2008 finally come to fruition in Hunstanton on Monday as work began on the installation of a crossing on Cromer Road creating a safe passage to the park.

Councillors Andrew Murray and Richard Bird expressed their delight and Mr Bird said: “We had census to prove the need both in summer and winter, we had a video of the volumes of traffic and demonstrated how difficult it is to cross with huge vehicles being so close.”

Contractors Lafarge Tarmac confirmed that the work is expected to be complete by Monday, March 16, and the road will be resurfaced as part of the project.
