The Highways Agency have said that work to rectify incorrect road markings on Lynn’s Hardwick Roundabout is to be completed next Tuesday.

A Lynn resident, Lucy Wag, raised concerns about the change to markings weeks ago following roadworks at the site, but was surprised to see they had not yet been carried out. She said: “Increasingly it is becoming more and more dangerous with the dark nights.”

The road markings affect those travelling around the roundabout, particularly under the flyover where those travelling in the left lane are forced to cut across the middle lane.

The middle lane is signposted towards the A149 and towards the town centre, while the left lane only continues on to the A149. Several drivers contacted the Lynn News regarding the initially changes. A Highways Agency spokesperson said: “We’re working to correct the road marking issue at Hardwick Roundabout.

“We’ve instructed our contractors, who have been out on a couple of occasions, but the poor weather has delayed the work.”
