Housing developer and regeneration specialist Lovell – which is helping deliver a major estate redevelopment programme in Lynn – has appointed Matthew Goakes as commercial manager for the company’s East Anglia region. Lovell is currently working on Freebridge Community Housing’s £30 million refurbishment programme for the Hillington Square estate.
Mr Goakes, pictured above, joins Lovell from housebuilder Hill Partnerships, where he was regional manager for the Norwich office. In his new role, he is responsible for all commercial, financial and legal aspects of the Lovell business across East Anglia and will manage the regional surveying and estimating teams.
He brings extensive experience in the successful delivery of high-quality new-build open market and affordable homes as well as of housing refurbishment and improvement programmes. He originally started his career as a quantity surveyor with Mansell Construction Services before joining Hill Partnerships, where he worked as contract surveyor and commercial manager before becoming regional manager.
Lovell regional director Tony Tann says: “Matthew’s strong sector expertise and local knowledge makes him an extremely valuable addition to our senior management team at an exciting time for the region. He will play an important part in the continuing expansion of the business in East Anglia which is founded on our ability to deliver the complete range of housing solutions for our clients and partners.”
