Police are appealing for witnesses following a fail-to-stop collision in Old Hunstanton yesterday afternoon.

At around 4.50pm on Thursday, two young girls were walking towards Thornham, along the A149 Old Hunstanton Road.

The girls were walking along the pavement, about 50 metres away from the Hamilton Road junction, close to the Lodge Pub and the Post Office, when one of the pair, a young teenager, was struck on the hip by the wing mirror of a passing car travelling in the same direction.

The car is described as a red, old-style vehicle which was going towards Holme-next-the-Sea and Thornham.

The victim sustained minor injuries and was left shaken by the incident.

Police wish to speak to any witnesses to this, and are keen to trace an elderly couple, the driver and passenger of a red van, who stopped to help following the incident.

Anyone with any information should contact PC Miller (1282) at Hunstanton on 101.
