I couldn’t help but notice the difference between our local politicians. Henry Bellingham trying to justify trousering an additional £66,000 a year on top of his MP’s salary, claiming it keeps him in touch with the real world, while Labour candidate Jo Rust gives up her time for free for the local charity,

Red Wellies and sleeps rough to raise awareness of the hardship homeless people face. Henry’s “real world” earnings give him £317 an hour. If he worked for one hour a week he’d earn the salary of a porter or a healthcare assistant, those very people he voted not to give a cost of living pay rise to. Nice one Henry.
