Oh joy, oh rapture, the local schools and the College of West Anglia are on their mid-term break. Quietness has descended on the area, especially in the mornings.
The lay-bys and our driveways are clear of pupils and students parking their cars, which means that delivery drivers and trades-persons can actually park near our houses to carry out their functions. And the litter is a thing of the past; no more do we see trails of food wrappers of all types and discarded food, cans, bottles etc. Absolute bliss. Sadly this state of affairs will only last another week and then they’re back – roll on Christmas.
