I am disgusted over the decision not to give ex-Linnet player Mick Wright the Freedom of the Borough for the lengthy term he served King’s Lynn Football Club and not getting so much as a single booking and/or injury.
It’s is a disgrace to say the very least. To decide behind closed doors makes me think those who made the decision, perhaps felt too frightened of their upsetting local people out in the open?
Back in the days when Mick, Keith Rudd and Freddie Easthall played for the Linnets, I rarely missed a home game whether Saturday or in the week. These days, I have no interest in the game whatsoever, but I very strongly feel Mick does deserve an award of some sort from the borough council.
Some people do far less and get an award such as OBE, MBE or even a knighthood. I have also discovered that the majority of councillors are only where they are to make a name for themselves, not for helping others, as they claim to do. Give Mick the reward he deserves.
