Jo Rust says she loves the history of our area and I’m sure she does.
Unfortunately one of her statements is incorrect.
The home of the first Prime Minister Robert Walpole is Houghton Hall, one of the grandest survivors of the Palladian era, built in the 1720s. With the magnificent hall, spectacular walled garden, soldier museum and extensive grounds it is well worth a visit.
In addition this year Houghton is holding a major Lightscape exhibition by the artist, James Turrell, details of which can be found on www.houghtonhall.com
