I have just had my grandchildren staying with me on holiday enjoying the beaches, walks on the prom and the fairground, but I would like to mention the following.
Firstly, having spent several evenings in the pier amusement collecting vouchers, which they saved up hoping to get a decent gift, they were offered out of date material, for example two-year-old pictures of JLS. Apparently, according to my nine-year-old granddaughter, they finished two years ago. Perhaps the council’s fair trade department should check them out. Seeing that they only pay £1 a year rent, you would have thought they could afford decent gifts for the kids to win. Secondly, whilst visiting the fair, my grandson needed the toilet so I took him to the one opposite the fair and I was shocked at the state of it. Filthy, dirty – it hadn’t been cleaned for weeks by the look of it. The borough council should be ashamed of itself. I would be happy to meet either a borough or town councillor to discuss my letter. It’s time Hunstanton was stopped being used as a cash cow for the borough and not having money made, particularly from car parking, reinvested in the town.
