I’ve read the article about the Hopkins Homes development (Lynn News, Friday, October 30) and I have written several letters to you about said proposal.
In my first one I stated it was about money and not Hunstanton’s future.
It seems that I was right now the council is asking for half-a-million pounds towards the cost of a new school. Do the councillors believe that these homes will be bought by young families who will use the school? If they do, then they are dreaming.
Why would a family come here when there are no job prospects? Maybe a better idea would be to collect the money and put it towards the pier proposal.
This would benefit the town more and, in view of the fact that councillors were responsible for negotiation of the original pier lease which was flawed, then perhaps they would welcome the chance to make amends.
We live in hope that one day our council will do the right thing.
