Thank you for your coverage of Zeppelin Week. It was truly a community effort throughout the week; all events were well attended.
The response from the community has been amazing.
Thanks to Morrisons and Sainsbury’s for contributing to the cost of wine and cheese at the town hall reception. Thanks to all who contributed lucky dip prices too: The Works, WH Smiths, Youngsters World and Clayton Jewellery.
Other sponsors were: Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre; Lynn Museum; The Works; Tim Clayton Jewellery; True’s Yard; West Norfolk and King’s Lynn Archaeological Society; WH Smith; Youngsters World.
I’d also like to thank the borough Mayor for hosting a highly successful event, to raise fund for our community museum, True’s Yard Fisherfolk Museum. We raised over £600!
Lastly, I must thank you and your colleagues at the Lynn News. The coverage has been excellent, and even contributed to Lindsey Bavin’s presentation at the WWI Commemorative conference held at Marriott’s Warehouse on Sunday. She spoke about the spies (or assumed spies and the MP’s pamphlet, which you mentioned in the Friday edition). You have a rich and nationally significant archive - it is very important to raise this, and remind people of how their community responded to these dramatic and shocking events in the heart of our town.
