Have your say

What a disgrace that these three people once again have made front page news, strapped to the War Memorial.

If only the people of Dersingham could tell these three that this War Memorial belongs to the village and not to them.

These individuals are in fact local councillors and have had every opportunity to talk to the council about their plans for the ground.

Why would the council not need to know what is happening with this area? With the recent event they planned they were asked for a risk assessment and it was not forthcoming. Of course, it goes without saying that the second Sunday of November will be the remembrance service, but all events need to be recorded.

I’m sorry, but this action of theirs shows how disrespectful they are to other councillors.

I would suggest that the War Memorial is given back to the local community and let our local gardeners look after it. Each gardener could take a year each and advertise their services on a small plaque in the garden or in the local village voice magazine for free. I think it’s time this memorial only had the attention it was intended for and not for these individuals’ childish arguments. Stop bringing this monument into disrepute.
