Palm Paper is on an enclosed site at the end of what I believe is a private road, and, as far as I am aware, there is not a bus service to the factory.
How, then, can a Stagecoach spokesman and the College of West Anglia both claim that the congestion in the town was caused by the fire at Palm Paper? I drove through Lynn to St Germans at the time of the incident in an articulated lorry and the traffic was no heavier than usual for that time of day on a Friday. There wasn’t any congestion at all going down Saddlebow Road, nor on my return. Let’s face it, at times, due to the volume of traffic, the road network in the town centre can’t cope, but someone must be to blame.
