Whilst I sympathise with Robert Raab’s letter (Lynn News, February 3), regarding the continuing loss of rainforests and wild land, he should be aware that the world is run by greed not need.
The human animal multiplies needlessly and is already consuming the planet’s resources faster than can be replaced. Just as the American Indians and the Aborigines were overcome, most of the world’s wild animal and plant life are in the way of commercial avarice and are being swept away. I hope the petition against the oil companies will have a brief effect, but don’t hold your breath.
