It is unfortunate that even Dr Mark Porter (BMA Council Chair) does not understand what a contract is.
A contract is a signed agreement between two parties.
Without this agreement, it cannot be imposed. Terms and conditions of work can be imposed and this is what will be done.
My advice to anyone if presented with a document (contract) to be signed with which they do not agree, yet could lose their job, is to add to the signature the Latin words “Vi coactus”. This means “under duress” and makes the acceptance null and void.
