The borough’s development plan is very close to acceptance (or refusal).
If you have a large garden in a rural setting this should scare you. You may well have been within the 1998 development boundary. Now, you’re possibly not. Why? Well, back in 2009 they wrote in Call for Sites that large gardens would be included if they fronted a main road but backed on to countryside. They also wrote that natural boundaries – like field boundaries – would be used wherever possible.
In 2011 they published a proposed set of new boundaries. Call for Sites 5.16 and 5.17 (the above) went walkabout. They just moved the boundaries up people’s back gardens away from natural boundaries (without directly asking them). How can this be right?
