Have your say

The Princess Theatre is right to be concerned about noise complaints from the newly developed residential area.

It’s not an isolated problem, as up and down the country venues are being forced to close after people buy/move into homes nearby and then complain about the noise.

When faced with this situation, most authorities, however wrong it may be, will side with the residents, regardless of whether they knew the venue was there before they moved in.

Unfortunately this isn’t a rare occurrence, but personally I think that the venues should be allowed to continue running as normal.

After all, someone wouldn’t buy a house near Heathrow and then try to get the airport closed as the planes were too noisy would they?

On second thoughts...

I sincerely wish the theatre the best of luck and I hope that there are no noise complaints, but as it’s such an iconic building, and an integral part of Hunstanton’s heritage, hopefully the authorities will see sense and try to find a solution that would allow it to keep going.
