Regarding your article on the front of Tuesday’s Lynn News (February 17) Save Us From The Axe’. As stated, Aspires started by Jackie Murphy 18 years ago for vulnerable adults has been part of their lives for a long time and provided them with a purpose in life.
Not only have they contributed to various businesses, they have enjoyed outings and shows from the money Jackie has saved.
So why, after all that time, are they suddenly victims of cutbacks when they have not done anything to deserve it?
I help out at the Phobbies group on a Monday and I know how much friendship and taking part means to people who would otherwise not go out anywhere.
So please, if you are going to make cutbacks, think about the devastating impact on other people’s lives.
