Have your say

I was very interested to read Councillor Alexandra Kemp’s park-and-ride proposal from the Willows site. However the statement that really grabbed my attention was buy opponents to the scheme stating: ‘’The scheme would require substantial financial investment.”

I have myself used P&R on several occasions when attending such events as Wimbledon tennis and music festivals basically how it works, one parks car in field and climbs aboard a waiting bus, and that in the eyes of some of our local councillors requires substantial financial investment?

Long term, I can appreciate that a more permanent terminal might be envisaged, but surely common sense would dictate that any such scheme would be afforded a trail period before any form of investment should come up for consideration.

Moving on, I note that Stagecoach bus company raised the issue as the West Norfolk Council is not interested in such a scheme. A thought for Stagecoach: to take initiative why not approach Keith Chapman, owner of Adrian Flux Arena, to use the car park at the front of the stadium as a terminal? If a deal could be agreed between Stagecoach and Keith Chapman this area could offer hardstanding for cars and bus’s, Pit Stop café, and toilet facilities.
